How to give feedback that is heard,
understood and motivational
Often, managers are reluctant resent giving
corrective (or negative) feedback. They assume employee defensiveness and fear
that negative feedback will offend the employees and thus affect their rapport
with the employees. Such managers are likely to withhold criticism. However, feedback
is a central component of the manager-employee relationship. . It is something
that the leader must do every day.
The Feedback Sandwich is the most effective
tool a leader can use to gain incremental improvements in performance. Sandwich
feedback starts and ends with a positive feedback.
This embedded performance improvement is
accepted by other people’s unconsciousness.
Use this frequency a week to gain more
performance improvement year by year.
Remember, ALWAYS prepare the sandwich
BEFORE delivery.
